In December 2008 guests of Academservice were

Academservice organizes business trips, seminars and conferences, major political and business forums, sports events, theatre and musical tours. Academservice offers a full range of services for organizers of MICE and special events (meeting rooms and equipment, exhibitions, hotel accommodation, transport service, social program and gala-dinners, guide and interpreter service, PR assistance, floristics etc.).

During November 2008 Academservice provided travel service to:

 • Patrick Fiori, a French singer who rose to prominence through his performance in the successful musical Notre-Dame de Paris, and performed with his only concert in Russia on December 2 at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex (in cooperation with Holiday Inn Moscow Lesnaya Hotel),
 • The Offspring, a band playing mostly fast rock and punk style music, who were on world tour accompanying release of their new album Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, and performed on December 3 at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex in Moscow and on December 5 at the Ice Sports Palace in St.Petersburg (in cooperation with Angleterre Hotel, Rocco Forte Hotel Astoria in St.Petersburg and the Ritz-Karlton Moscow Hotel),
 • Endrik Wottrich, a renowned tenor famous both for his parts in Wagner’s operas and for his talent of chamber performance, with Semen Skigin, the professor of the Academy of Music “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin, who performs as an accompanist with many famous European singers (in cooperation with Katerina City Hotel in Moscow),
 • Ben van Oosten, a Dutch organist considered one of the most competent interpreters of French music of the past centuries, an owner of the Order of Arts and Literature (in cooperation with Katerina City Hotel in Moscow),
 • Vanessa Mae, an internationally known British pop and classical musician, especially noted for her violin skills, winner of the EMI prize as the most successful performer of classical music, nominated for the Best Female Artist in the Brit Awards, one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World voted by People magazine, who performed at the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall in St.Petersburg on December 5 (in cooperation with Grand Hotel Europe and Novotel St.Petersburg Centre Hotel),
 • Participants of the City Jazz International Festival that has arranged this year two remarkable concerts in Moscow – a French trumpet player Erik Truffaz with his 4tet, and an American jazz trio The Bad Plus with Wendy Lewis singing (in cooperation with Holiday Inn Moscow Suschevsky Hotel),
 • Pain, a Swedish band headed by Peter Tagtgren, the frontman for Hypocrisy, that performed on December 6 at the Port club in St.Petersburg (in cooperation with Andersen Hotel),
 • Zveri, a popular Russian band, a headliner of several musical festivals, a winner of MuzTV and MTV Russia awards, known in Russia for many hit songs (in cooperation with Ambassador Hotel in St.Petersburg),
 • Jay-Jay Johanson, a popular Swedish musician who performed with his new album Self Portrait on December 6 in St.Petersburg (in cooperation with Grand Hotel Emerald),
 • Joe Bonamassa, a well-known guitarist and singer who performed with his ensemble on December 7 at the Svetlanovsky Hall of the Moscow International House of Music (in cooperation with Swissotel Krasnye Holmy),
 • Organizers and participants of the Russian Dance Sport Tournament ChokoDance – 2008 that took place on December 6-7 at the CSKA Sports Palace (in cooperation with Aerostar Hotel in Moscow),
 • Whitesnake, a hard-rock band founded in 1970s by David Coverdale (formerly of Deep Purple), that performed on December 9 at the B1 Maximum club in Moscow and on December 11 at the Ice Sports Palace in St.Petersburg (in cooperation with Novotel St.Petersburg Centre Hotel and Rocco Forte Hotel Astoria in St.Petersburg, Baltschug Kempinski Moscow Hotel and Holiday Inn Moscow Suschevsky Hotel),
 • Chaif, one of the oldest Russian rock bands formed in the middle of 1980s by Vladimir Shakhrin, that performed on December 10 at the Variety Theatre in Moscow (in cooperation with Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya Hotel),
 • Manhattan Transfer, an American band, one of the most popular jazz vocal groups, that performed with the only Russian concert on December 10 at the B1 Maximum club (in cooperation with Borodino Business Hotel in Moscow),
 • James Conlon, the Principal Conductor of Los-Angeles Opera Theatre, who performed with the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra at the Moscow International House of Music on December 11 (in cooperation with Swissotel Krasnye Holmy),
 • Members of the famous German downtempo jazz ensemble De Phazz that celebrates its 10th birthday this year and presented in Moscow and St.Petersburg their new program, including new arrangements for the well-known hits performed by the 21-member big jazz-band, as well as compositions from the group’s new album Days Of Twang (in cooperation with Marriott Tverskaya Hotel in Moscow, Ibis St.Petersburg Moskovsky Vokzal Hotel and Helvetia Hotel and Suites in St.Petersburg),
 • Participants of the festive Gala-concert celebrating the birthday of Yury Temirkanov: conductors Mariss Jansons, Alexander Dmitriev and Nikolay Alexeev; Yury Bashmet, Eliso Virsaladze, Natalya Gutman, Evgeny Kisin, Gidon Kremer, Sergey Leiferkus, Denis Matsuev, Vadim Repin, Dmitry Hvorostovsky, and other renowned figures of world music (in cooperation with Grand Hotel Europe in St.Petersburg),
 • Andrey Makarevich and his Creol Tango Orchestra, who performed on December 13 at the Oktyabrsky Concert Hall in St.Petersburg (in cooperation with Grand Hotel Emerald),
 • Vyacheslav Butusov and those took part in the concert marking the 25th birthday of the legendary Nautilus Pompilius band (U-Piter, Nochnye Snaipery, Chaif, Vopli Vidoplyasova, Piknik, Smyslovye Gallutsinatsii, Nastya Poleva), which took place on December 13 at the Ice Sports Palace in St.Petersburg and on December 17 at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex in Moscow (in cooperation with Holiday Inn Moscow Lesnaya Hotel),
 • The cult band Supermax, high-class musicians from Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, and the USA, joined by the founder and unchallenged leader of the band Kurt Hauenstein, who performed on December 14 at the Lensoveta Palace of Culture (in cooperation with Andersen Hotel in St.Petersburg),
 • Yuki Manuela Janke, a German violinist, a winner of many international musical contests, who performed on December 13 at the Moscow International House of Music (in cooperation with Katerina City Hotel),
 • Kurt Elling, the jazz superstar for the 40-year-old generation with his jazz ensemble that performed in Moscow on December 13 (in cooperation with Katerina City Hotel),
 • Bleeding Through, a metal band from California that visited some cities of Russia during the concert tour, and performed in St.Petersburg at the Orlandina club on December 16,
 • Lacuna Coil band, an Italian gothic-metal group that visited Russia for the first time in December 2008 to present its debut DVD called Visual Karma (Body, Mind and Soul),
 • Authors and participants of the musical performance Luntik and His Friends that was demonstrated on December 17-24 at the Mir Concert Hall in Moscow,

 • Organizers and participants of the spectacular performance Lednikovy Period (The Ice Age) that is demonstrated on the First Channel with world figure skating stars (Alexey Yagudin, Tatyana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, Tatyana Totmyanina and Maxim Marinin, Maria Petrova and Alexey Tikhonov, Irina Lobacheva, Irina Slutskaya and others), famous figures of Russian show business (Janna Friske, Timur Rodriges, Vera Brezhneva, Alena Babenko, Ekaterina Strizhenova, Egor Beroev, Alexey Kortnev, Tatyana Arntgoltz and others), and invited everyone to the Gala concert that took place at the Ice Sports Palace in St.Petersburg on December 21 (in cooperation with Moscow Hotel),

 • Dschinghis Khan, a German disco band formed in 1979 by the producer Ralf Siegel, that won worldwide popularity after Eurovision-1979 musical contest (in cooperation with Radisson SAS Royal Hotel in St.Petersburg),
 • Vladimir Kuzmin, a Russian multi-instrumental musician, singer and composer, leader of the Dynamic band, author of many popular songs that gained top positions in the charts of different radio stations (in cooperation with Golden Garden Boutique Hotel in St.Petersburg),
 • Marcelo Alvarez, an Argentine lyric tenor who achieved international success performing with top singers in major opera houses and concert halls around the world, and performed accompanied by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia (conductor Vladimir Spivakov) at the Svetlanovsky Hall of the Moscow International House of Music on December 31 (in cooperation with Swissotel Krasnye Holmy),
 • Charon, a Finnish English-speaking gothic-metal band, whose music combines psychological lyric poetry, unusual singing and heavy guitar sound, which was shown on December 31 at the Relax club in Moscow at the special New Year’s performance,
 • Mnozil Brass, an Austrian brass ensemble that presents its music in a typical Austrian humor style, which features elements of slapstick existent next to virtuosic brass playing, caricatured songs, classical and jazz music played on unusual instruments, which was demonstrated on December 31 at the Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where the musicians presented their new program La Creme de la Crème (in cooperation with Marriott Grand Hotel),
 • Lolita, a popular Russian singer, actress and TV-star, who is very successful in concert activity, TV shows, music recording, film making, theatre and musical performances (in cooperation with Ibis St.Petersburg Moskovsky Vokzal Hotel and Grand Hotel Europe in St.Petersburg),
 • Shapeshifters, a British house-music duet consisting of Simon Marlin and Max Reich who own their personal label and are considered pioneers heading the revival of house-music movement (in cooperation with Golden Apple Boutique Hotel in Moscow),
 • Gordon Edge, a popular DJ and producer performing at the best clubs worldwide, whose tracks have been used in the most successful musical compilations (in cooperation with Golden Apple Boutique Hotel in Moscow).

All the hotels mentioned above are members of Best Eurasian Hotels (Best Eastern Hotels) established in 1998 as a marketing chain for consolidated promotion of hotels on the territory of the former USSR onto different markets.
